Missa pro Patria
The album “Missa pro Patria” contains a work composed by Łukasz Farcinkiewicz, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of regaining independence by Poland. World premiere of “Missa pro Patria” took place during the celebration of the National Independence Day in Tarnów, on November 10, 2018.
The artistic idea was to create a thoroughly Polish work, therefore the motifs taken from Polish music literature – polonaises and mazurkas by Fryderyk Chopin and songs: “Boże coś Polskę”, “Jak szczęśliwa Polska cała”or “Bogurodzica” – are being mixed up in individual parts of “Missa pro Patria”. In the finale part you can hear the motif from “Mazurek Dąbrowskiego”.
The album was made in cooperation with great artists. Especially for the needs of this project the “Sinfonia Galicya” Orchestra was created. Its creator is Piotr Tarcholik, the first concert master of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice. A whole content of the album was led by a world-class conductor – Alexander Humala.
The recording of the sound material took place in December 2018 at the Krzysztof Penderecki European Music Center in Lusławice. The album has been covered by the media patronage by RMF Classic.
