In July this year, the Girls’ Cathedral Choir ‘Puellae Orantes’ participated in the International Contest named after Bela Bartok in Debrecen, in Hungary.
By the decision of the Artistic Board and the Jury of the Contest, ‘Puellae Orantes’ received the Special Prize of the largest Hungarian musical notes publisher – Edito Musica Music Publishing Ltd., for the most outstanding interpretation of the obligatory piece ‘Beatus vir’.
Special prize of Edito Musica Music Publishing Ltd. for the most outstanding interpretation of a Hungarian piece ‘Beatus vir.’ With the award the choir can print or buy free of charge music notes for the sum of 500 Euro.
Twenty four choirs participated in the contest. Among them were choirs from Belgium, Denmark, Philippines, Spain, Indonesia, Canada, Lithuania, Moldova, Germany, Norway, the United States, Ukraine and Hungary. ‘Puellae Orantes’ was the only team that represented Poland.
On the way home, the choir stopped in Budapest to visit, among others, gorgeous Hungarian Parliament.
The project was subsidized from the means of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
