On 23 March this year the Girls’ Cathedral Choir ‘Puellae Orantes’ preformed during celebrations of the Day of Polish-Hungarian Friendship which took place in Szeged, Hungary. The choir was invited by the voivodeship of Csongrád and the Polish Embassy in Budapest. The celebrations were held with the participation of the Presidents of Poland and Hungary.
The official programme of ceremonies began in the National Park of Historical Memory in Òpusztaszer, where ‘Puellae Orantes’ sang the Polish national anthem. After both anthems had been performed President of Poland Bronisław Komorowski and President Pál Schmitt delivered speeches.
The next event of celebrations was a festive Holy Mass in the Votive Cathedral in Szeged to which the Tarnów choral team provided musical frame. After the Mass ‘Puellae Orantes’ gave a concert in front of all respectable guests who gathered in the Cathedral. When the concert ended the Presidents congratulated the choir expressing their appreciation of the artistic skills of the team. The girls, in turn, handed records with their recordings and commemorative gifts to Presidents and Ambassadors.
