The girls’ Cathedral Choir “Puellae Orantes” released the next – tenth – album, of which premiere took place during a press conference at the “Tatrzańska” Restaurant.
The inspiration for the album were New Year’s concerts, which the choir performed with distinguished guests, including the band “The King’s Singers”, brass quintet “Canadian Brass”, Polish Radio Orchestra “Amadeus” and the Orchestra of Vienna Soloists. The repertoire of these concerts always referred to the Christmas period. These were unique projects, with a repertoire developed especially for this occasion.
The album “Christmas Time” includes works entirely arranged by the Warsaw composer Łukasz Farcinkiewicz, with whom the choir has been cooperating since 2012. The repertoire of the album consisted of both traditional Polish Christmas carols and the standards of world Christmas music.
To cooperate in the implementation of the album “Christmas Time”, the Tarnów team invited the string quartet “Apotheosis” and “Krakowski Kwintet Blaszany”.
The string quartet “Apotheosis” was created in 2009. The team is a laureate of international competitions in Poland, Ukraine and Slovenia. He participated in prestigious festivals, concert tours, including tour in the United States. He implements various artistic projects of both classical music and film or entertainment music.
Krakowski Kwintet Blaszany – “Cracow Brass Quintet” was established in 2002. The band consists of talented musicians cooperating with such orchestras as the Orchestra of the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice or the Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra. The quintet won prizes at competitions, and its members are laureates of many individual prizes. At their concerts, the band presents works that are diverse in terms of style and epoch.
The recording of the sound material of the new album took place on 11, 12 and 13 September at the European Music Center Krzysztof Penderecki in Lusławice.
