On the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of the First Pilgrimage of John Paul II to his homeland, the "Puellae Orantes" choir performed a concert in the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Cracow. The concert took place in a place particularly associated with the figure of Saint John Paul II, who spent many hours in the Basilica praying, as evidenced by the "papal bench", on which a plaque commemorating these moments was placed. Exactly 40 years ago, on June 8, 9 and 10, a Polish Pope was in Cracow, and he met the sick people in the Franciscan Basilica. The concert program consisted of sacred songs, referring to the message of the First Pilgrimage of the Holy Father to his homeland.
The project was co-financed from the funds of the city of Cracow, with the financial support of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship and from the funds of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund.
