The Girls' Cathedral Choir "Puellae Orantes" cordially invites you
to the CONCERT PROMOTING "Missa pro Patria" ALBUM
The concert will take place on May 25, 2019, at the Krzysztof Penderecki European Music Center in Lusławice, and the main work will be "The Mass for Fatherland" by Łukasz Farcinkiewicz, contained in the album.
The Mass as a musical form has been composed for centuries by eminent masters, which is why in the first part the choir would like to present a mass from the Classicism period.
It will be "Missa sub titulo Sancti Leopoldi" by Michael Haydn, accompanied by Marcin Kucharczyk's organ accompaniment. The first part of the concert will end with the "Te Deum" by Joseph Haydn, the famous Viennese classic. This is an outstanding work, composed for the empress Maria Teresa, for mixed choir and orchestra. The concert will feature an arrangement for a female choir and a piano. Łukasz Farcinkiewicz, a pianist and composer, will sit at the piano.
In the second part of the concert will be presented "Missa pro Patria", composed by Łukasz Farcinkiewicz, on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of regaining independence by Poland. It is a thrilling work, a kind of calendar of the history of our nation, containing musical motifs close to the heart of every Pole - from the song "Boże coś Polskę" through the polonaises and mazurkas of Fryderyk Chopin, to "Bogurodzica" and "Mazurek Dąbrowskiego".
Performers of "Missa pro Patria" will be artists who recorded the promoted album. Next to the Girls' Cathedral Choir "Puellae Orantes" the "Sinfonia Galicya" orchestra will perform. Its creator is Piotr Tarcholik, the 1st concert master of the Polish National Radio Orchestra in Katowice. A whole concert will be conducted by a world-class conductor - Alexander Humala.
