The girls’ Cathedral Choir “Puellae Orantes” in 2018, due to the 100th anniversary of regaining independence by Poland, implements a series of patriotic concerts.

The repertoire consists of works by Polish composers devoted to this subject, including: “Bogurodzica”, “Bogarodzico, Dziewico”, “Nie rzucim Chryste”, “Do kraju tego”, “Jak szczęśliwa Polska cała”, “Magnificat”. The choir commissioned the preparation of most of the mentioned works to the Warsaw composer – Łukasz Farcinkiewicz.

Concerts titled “Muzycznie Śladami Polskiej Niepodległości” (means “Musically in the Footsteps of Polish Independence”) take place in places marked by heroism in the struggle for the independence of our homeland and places of remembrance about those who gave their lives for it.

The project was co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund, with the financial support of the Małopolska Voivodship and the budget of the City of Tarnów.
